Overseas Field Trip 2023 (Hong Kong-Japan)

From 28 May to 3 June 2023, 45 undergraduate students, including the 5 faculty members of the International College, KMUTNB, will be on an international field trip to Hong Kong and Japan, respectively. The first visit is visiting the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 29 May to attain a short course taught by Prof. Dr. Sandy To on the topic titled “Advanced Manufacturing Technology” and by Prof. Peter Wong on the topic titled “Port Logistics and SCM on the Greater Pearl River Delta Area”.
Next day, the group will travel to Tokyo, Japan to attain a short course taught by Prof. Dr. Makoto Abe on the topic titled “Applying Data Analysis to Marketing using Quantitative and Statistical Models” at the University of Tokyo, and visit the Port of Tokyo to overview its operations, including the movement of containers and other cargo, loading, and unloading of ships and containers, and/or customs activities. Then, the group will travel to Kawaguchigo for sightseeing.
After that, the group will travel to Kurobe, Toyama to visit the Kurobe No.4 Power Station to overview its operations and understand the process of the hydro generating electricity that could be utilized in Thailand.
Furthermore, the group will visit Shirakawago, the World Heritage, to visit and attain a short course taught by Dr. Rungnapa Kampaya on the topic titled “Sustainable Tourism and Tourism as Soft Power Instrument”. Then, the group will travel to the SCMaglev and Railway Park, Nagoya to overview its operations, including modern Japanese rail transportation infrastructure, high-speed train function and implications for public transportation, as well as maglev trains technology and architecture. On the last day, the group will go sightseeing around the Osaka area before coming back to Thailand.
